Reading a little, often

A small habit is easier to return to.

Choose a time that already has a natural pause: after breakfast, during a train ride, or before turning out the lamp. Ten pages at a predictable moment can be easier to sustain than waiting for a completely free afternoon.

Keep the current book somewhere visible. A book at the bottom of a bag becomes another thing to remember. One beside a chair is an invitation that does not need a notification.

Stop at a useful point rather than at an arbitrary target. A paragraph that raises a question can be a good place to leave a marker. The aim is to make tomorrow's return feel easy.
